Thursday – Arrival
Arrive
in San Jose. We will greet you at the airport and drive directly to Atenas, 45
minutes away.
A wonderful experience awaits you at
Vista Atenas B & B, on the lush rolling countryside, with sweeping valley
vistas. Time to rest and enjoy the grace and serenity of Vista Atenas.
Friday – Atenas
At 9:00am, after breakfast
and a dip in the pool, a drive around the quaint small town of Atenas and a
visit to the farmers market, full of activity, tropical fruits, flowers,
medicinal plants, and a try of fresh coconut water. Barbecue lunch at an expats
property. Afternoon to check all the different residential communities in
Atenas, from gated communities, to raw land, to farms, single houses and
gorgeous "quintas", the one acre vacation homes of Costa Ricans.
Saturday – Grecia – Handicraft town of Sarchi La Guacima - La Garita
8:00am start leaving Atenas by the
backroad to the Inter American highway towards Grecia, a short stop to visit
its renowned church, wonderful area with sugar cane and coffee plantations with
the background of the Poas Volcano. Sarchi, the Costa Rican handicraft center,
to see how the wood oxcarts are painted and buy souvenirs. Typical lunch at
Sarchi and continuation towards La Garita, and La Guacima, visiting
Ciudad Hacienda Los Reyes, the best country club of the area with big
lots, golf course and lots of open space and other residential areas with
incredible mountain views. Back to our nice Atenas hotel.
Sunday – San Jose - Escazu – Santa Ana – Ciudad Colon
Check out after breakfast
and departure at 8:00am to drive through the city and along the highway that
surrounds the city. Drive by the main points of interest of San Jose such as
the Cathedral, Central Park, National Theater, National Museum, the San Jose marketplace, the city “projects”, and other areas of the city to locate the good
and bad areas of the city. Lunch at a seafood restaurant to try all the
different
Afternoon touring in the Western area
of San Jose that comprises the areas of Escazu, Santa Ana and Ciudad Colon. On
our way we will be explain all the infrastructure (hospital, a mall
complex, U.S. Embassy, banks, golf and country clubs etc.). This area offers
many condominiums and gated community residential projects, great views of the
city and American oriented services, especially at the Escazu and Santa Ana locations. Visit to a condo highrise in Escazu, a beautiful private home, the
Country Club and US Embassy residential house. Visit to Valle del Sol, one of
the best gated communities in Costa Rica and continuation along the old road to
Santa Ana, tour around the small town and continue along the old road to
Ciudad Colon. Before leaving you at your hotel, a drink at Tiquicia, a typical
restaurant with the best view of the Central Valley. Lodging at The Alta Hotel, among the
best of Costa Rica's small boutique hotels and with one of San Jose's finest
cuisine. Deluxe double room with continental breakfast included, 24-hour
access to business center with computer, fax machine, copying services and
printer and high-speed Internet access through data ports or wireless
connections.
